Filofax Vlog: Showing off My New A5 Aqua Chameleon Filofax Setup

SO exciting! I really enjoyed making My First Filofax Vlog on Youtube – Check out my Filofax Unboxing Video here. I'm back now to show you my brand new Filofax setup (Link to the new video is further down...)

It's a bit weird being on camera like this.

It's even more weird being on camera talking about a Filofax planner. But you guys have all shown me that this is a totally normal thing to do in the online planner community, especially if you're a blogger.

So I am embracing the new experience, and loving every moment of it. Even if I do seem completely insane.

You'll have to WATCH THE VIDEO to find out why though...

Enjoy!

Loved it and want more?

  1. Hello!

    Your post has brightened my day and really made me laugh! You have a Filofax that you don't use, that contains a separate diary and notebook which you DO use. Hilarious! Why don't you buy yourself a beautiful new handbag and put the diary and notebook in it, so you don't have to carry the A5 round with you and break your shoulder in the process??

    Seriously though, it's a lovely Filofax and I hope that one day you'll start to use it to its full potential! LOL!

    1. Hi LucyLastic!

      I know, it's completely bonkers isn't it? :) I do like your idea of purchasing a beautiful new handbag though... might just do that!

      Funnily enough, I spent a significant amount of time yesterday trying to figure out exactly how to make better use of my A5 and I think I'm getting closer to figuring it out. So I hope you stick around on my blog to see how that turns out.

      So happy that I'm bringing a smile to people's faces with my Filofancy ramblings :)

  2. Hi!

    I love your videoblogs, they are fun! :) More, please!

    Same problem here: major planner fail. I am carrying around a 3kg A5 Malden to university (plus an additional 15kg consisting of course literature, Moleskine notebooks and the law book). I could use a really small diary and use a separate notebook for detailed instructions etc. But... I want to carry around the A5 because it's pretty!

    I am using a personal compact size this week to try out the format, if only to ensure my back doesn't break. >.< But I'll probably end up with the far more beautiful A5 anyway... so yes "none of this make sense". XD;

    Your filo is gorgeous, though, and I love your painting! Are you aspiring to become a writer or an artist? :)

    1. Hi Yu,

      Thanks for your lovely comment! Its great to hear that you like my videoblogs :) I will definitely be uploading more soon!

      Isn't it strange that we love these Filofaxes SO much, even though there are probably lots of other more sensible ways to organise our lives and work. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to make my A5 most useful. Its a very complicated problem that nobody in my world seems to understand, (because to all of my friends, I am just mad, heehee). they'd probably think I was nuts if I admitted that I'm actually looking out for a giant bag that can fit both my A5, Personal AND my pocket Filofax. (I have even considered getting a bag on wheels to save my back, but I think that might be going too far...

      As for me being a writer or a painter - goodness me, I've never really thought about being a painter - you might have unleashed a new whim... :)

    2. For some reason, I didn't see your reply until now!

      Well, that painting is really beautiful so... :D

      And one of my friends told me yesterday "You know, I have NEVER met anyone who talks as much about Filofaxes before I met you." Ooops! Well, they just have to accept that Filofaxes are a permanent obsession of mine. It's just my version of their obsession with nail polish or something. XD;

      I've seen students at my campus who have simply given up and gotten very chic carry-on bags on wheels that they use in order to spare their backs. I kind of envy them. If I wouldn't feel so weird dragging one, I might get one just so I can get back to using my A5 filofax. I'm currently using a personal size during the summer. As I'm going to London and then to different parts of France, the A5 is a bit big to carry around even though the paper size is ideal: diary, notebook and drawing pad all in one. :)

    3. Ooh I have one of those bags on wheels - soooooo useful, but mine is a bit of a granny one. Might have to upgrade. I don't do my food shopping or laundry without it! I know what you mean about the A5. Have you tried an A5 Flex? They're not so cumbersome. Read some of my posts on how I use my flex, they may inspire you - just type 'Flex' into the search button on the blog and all the relevant posts should come up. Otherwise you can browse through the archive.

    4. Yes, I currently use flex A5 notebooks in my filo, but I didn't like the look of the actual Flex folder itself. I'm hoping for a less "plasticky" version when the new ones are launched. :)

    5. I know exactly what you mean... I thought that about the flex when I bought mine too, and it was a bit of a niggle until I got used to it. Now I find it quite charming though, which is a relief :) I do think there is a lot of potential for new flex design though. I hope the Flex concept of being simple and neutral doesn't affect this potential! I'm awaiting a nice temperley-esque version :)

  4. Thank you VHPE :) I haven's used a filofax in a while because I've switched over to my Midori Traveler's Notebook, but I may try to find a new use for my filofaxes and do some more posts soon - thanks for inspiring me x
